JUST A REMINDER FOR TOMORROW MORNING –

We’ll see you all at Sargent Pepper’s Photography Studio tomorrow, Saturday, 1/4 by 9:30am. The photos will be done by 10:30am.

The new location is: 7345 S. Pierce St, Suite 202C, Littleton 80128, 303-797-0124. This is quite a bit farther west, near Wadsworth, so please allow an extra 15 minutes or more (depending on weather/road conditions) to get there.

Please wear your maroon band shirt, dark khaki slacks, long dress socks, black dress shoes, and a black belt. Bring your instrument for the group photo, including cymbals, snare drum, drum sticks, string bass, keyboard, banjo, etc…

We’ll then see you by 6:30pm on Sunday, 1/5 at Flesher-Hinton Music Store for our 6:30-9:00pm weekly rehearsal.

TRANSCRIPTION ASSIGNMENT: Everyone is required to transcribe a solo from our professional recordings. We should be able to listen to all transcriptions this Sunday. Adam is doing “The Mooche,” Jake C is transcribing “Saints,” Jake W is doing “Bourbon Street,” or something else,  Andrew is transcribing “Bill Bailey, and Trevor is transcribing “Washington and Lee Swing.” Copland has already completed and performed his transcription. Josh is working on his drum set technique.

Please be sure the dominant 7th plus nine & pg. 18 in Bill’s Improv Book are prepared.

We will rehearse all 15 tunes that we’ll perform at the Broadmoor on January 23rd. The set list has now been uploaded. Please prepare and memorize all of these selections by our January 5th rehearsal.

Thank you to all the parents and students who were in attendance at our December 15th trip meeting. Mr. Evans will be able to drive Tom, Josh and the drum kit to Colorado Springs, so we should be all set for drivers now. I did contact the 4 parents who were not able to attend the trip meeting, to make sure we’re a go for Sacramento and NYC. It’s very important that everyone checks that the travel dates of July 27th through August 1st will work for our New York trip.

Additional Parent Drivers To/From Colorado Springs:

Mr. and Mrs. Conway: Jake C, Adam & Jake W (Conways will stay overnight at the Broadmoor)
