JUST A REMINDER FOR TOMORROW –

We’ll see you by 3:00pm on Thursday, 1/23, at the Broadmoor Hotel (1 Lake Ave, Colorado Springs · (719) 634-7711). Leave very early, especially if the weather is not that great. Please wear your maroon/slacks outfit – please come dressed for performance. Please be sure the 15 performance selections are prepared and memorized for Thursday.

Parent Drivers To/From Colorado Springs (Arrive by 3pm – Thurs, 1/23 & Depart 4pm or later on Fri, 1/24):

Mr. and Mrs. Conway: Jake C, Adam & Jake W (Conways will stay overnight at the Broadmoor; Adam and Jake W will be picked up at Adam’s house; They will be returned there on Friday afternoon/evening)

Mr. David McLean: Andrew & Trevor

Mr. Jonathan Evans: Tom & Josh

Copland will be brought to the Broadmoor by his Castle View HS Band Director, Mr. Mark Cellar; He will ride home with his parents on Saturday after the All State Jazz Concert.

We will cover the $16 valet parking fee for the 3 parent drivers who are transporting students to/from Colorado Springs.

Please drive up to the main entrance and let security know that you are checking in. The student rooms are under Trevor Smith & Copland Harris Rose. Then, after room check-in takes place, vehicles with any large equipment need to be driven over to the valet curbside location in front of the Summit Restaurant at Broadmoor Hall. This should take place around 3:30pm.

Parents who would like to attend the Thursday performances will need CMEA parent passes.

Mr. & Mrs. Conway: 2 Thursday & Friday passes

Mr. David McLean: 1 Thursday & Friday pass

Mr. Jonathan Evans: 1 Thursday pass

Ms. Elaine Lewers: 1 Thursday & Friday pass

Please let me know as soon as possible if any additional parent passes are needed.

TRANSCRIPTION ASSIGNMENT: Everyone is required to transcribe a solo from our professional recordings. We should be able to listen to all transcriptions this Sunday. Adam is doing “The Mooche,” Jake C is transcribing “Saints,” Jake W is doing “Bourbon Street,” or something else, Andrew is transcribing “Bill Bailey, and Trevor is transcribing “Washington and Lee Swing.” Copland has already completed and performed his transcription. Josh is working on his drum set technique.

Please be sure the dominant 7th plus nine & pg. 18 in Bill’s Improv Book are prepared.

Trip payment #1 ($260) needs to be turned in by the end of January (February 2nd at the latest).
