PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR OUR PERFORMANCE ON SATURDAY, JULY 7TH: PLEASE ARRIVE AT SPORTS AUTHORITY FIELD AT MILE HIGH (1701 Bryant St, Denver 80204) BY 2:00PM – ALLOW LOTS OR EXTRA TIME IN CASE OF TRAFFIC. PLEASE WEAR YOUR BLUE BAND SHIRT, KHAKI BAND SHORTS, WHITE OR LIGHT COLORED TENNIS SHOES AND LOW CUT WHITE SOCKS OUTFIT. ALEX, PLEASE BRING YOUR KEYBOARD AND PEDAL/CABLES; COLTON PLEASE BRING YOUR DRUM SET. MASON, YOU ARE WELCOME TO BRING YOUR DRUM SET AS WELL, OR PLAY WASHBOARD.

Driving Directions: Take the 17th St. exit off I-25; take the first left; then make a right into the stadium parking lot entrance; drive to the left around the Bronco tent; Go to Gate 10 and unload; 5 Parking Permits have been distributed to Colton, Alex, Ed, Matt and Cameron – please car pool. Please contact one of them if you need a ride directly into the stadium; Otherwise you’ll have to be dropped off, take light rail, or pay the parking fee. The parking permits are good for Parking Lot C, which is just below Gate #10 (where we will be performing).

THE REVISED SET LIST HAS NOW BEEN UPLOADED, SINCE WE JUST FOUND OUT THAT DALLAS WILL NOT BE PERFORMING. WE WILL SET UP, AUDITION PIANIST TREVOR SMITH, REHEARSE THE NATIONAL ANTHEM, AND DO SOUND CHECKS FROM 2 UNTIL 3:45PM. WE WILL BE SERVED DINNER FREE OF CHARGE AT 4PM. THE PERFORMANCE WILL GO FROM 4:45 PM UNTIL 6:30PM.

WE WILL THEN GO TO THE FIELD AND PERFORM THE STAR SPANGLED BANNER AT APPROXIMATELY 6:50PM. DUE TO THE WEATHER FORECAST, I WOULD LIKE TO ASK ANY PARENTS WHO WILL BE ATTENDING TO PLEASE BRING UMBRELLAS. IF THE STADIUM CANNOT PROVIDE A CANOPY COVERING DURING THE NATIONAL ANTHEM, I MAY NEED TO ASK YOU TO HOLD UMBRELLAS ABOVE OUR PLAYERS WHO NEED TO KEEP THEIR INSTRUMENTS AND VOCAL MICROPHONES DRY. EVERYONE WILL THEN HELP LOAD ALL THE EQUIPMENT BACK INTO OUR VEHICLES, BEFORE ENJOYING THE CORPS SHOW. THERE ARE 13 TICKETS, WITH 9 NEEDED FOR US, 1 FOR CAMERON’S MOM, 1 FOR RICO’S MOM, AND 1 FOR MATT’S MOM. I DO HAVE 1 ADDITIONAL TICKET AVAILABLE. EVERYONE CAN THEN STAY AS LONG AS THEY WOULD LIKE TO. THE MAIN SHOW IS USUALLY OVER AROUND 10PM, WITH AN ADDITIONAL STAND-STILL PERFORMANCE GOING UNTIL 11PM.

Please be sure the national anthem and the complete performance set are prepared and memorized! New players just do the best you can – please bring a music stand if you need to read some of the lead sheets.

The set order and reference recordings can be found on the Downloads page

Please work really hard, enjoy your private lessons, and be ready for Saturday’s performance.

PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR OUR REHEARSAL ON SUNDAY, JULY 8TH: Please arrive at Flesher-Hinton Music Store by 5:30pm. PLEASE NOTE THE NEW, EARLIER REHEARSAL TIME (THIS IS THE LAST SUNDAY WE’LL BE STARTING AT THIS 5:30PM TIME).

Mason, please bring your drum set on Sunday.

Please remember to bring your listening CD’s on Sunday.

Please be prepared to play all your major scales around the circle of fourths. We’ll also do pg. 6 in the improv book – Major triads plus 6th’s around the circle. Please practice so you can do it all from memory.

We will rehearse for the Botanical Gardens July 14th performance set, possibly with no cornet lead. Also, the KUVO set will need to be decided with reed/trombone/tuba leads throughout that hour long radio show.
