PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR OUR EVERGREEN JAZZ FESTIVAL WORKSHOP & FESTIVAL PERFORMANCES ON TUESDAY, JULY 20TH and 22ND THROUGH 25TH: Please arrive at the Evergreen Christian Church (27772 Iris Dr) by 9:45am on Tuesday and Thursday, July 20th and 22nd. The workshops are casual dress. Please dress for the weather – stay cool. Shorts, T-shirts, sandals, etc… are all perfectly fine. Be sure and bring your instrument(s), a water bottle, a wire music stand (if you have one), and pencils. Drum sets and pianos are provided. You should have already received the 2 lead sheets and 4 audio recordings which will help you prepare for the workshop. If you didn’t receive these, please contact me right away. Our free pizza lunch will take place at 12:45pm, so be sure and eat breakfast before the workshop. Also, plan on staying until approximately 1:30pm, when the lunch will end.
Ed will pick up Rebecca at the NW parking lot at S. University and Hampden Ave. at 7:15am both days. We will then pick Alex D. up at Flesher-Hinton at 8am. We will then do a return car pool, dropping off Molly, Alex B., and Alex D. at Flesher-Hinton at approximately 2:45pm. Rebecca will be dropped off at approximately 3:15pm. Kyle will meet us in Evergreen. Alex B. and Molly will car pool up together. Matt and Ray will car pool together. Cara and Daniel will car pool together. Armando will join them on Thursday through Sunday.
We will also attend the festival on Fri, 7/23 (11:45am-6:45pm). Casual dress is ok on Friday. Be sure to bring a sack lunch & dinner, or money for food.
We will perform on Sat, 7/24 from 10:15 until 10:45am and attend until 6pm. Please plan on arriving by 9:30am on Saturday, so we can rehearse and do a sound check before the performance. Be sure to wear your maroon band shirt, khaki slacks, dress shoes, and socks. Once again, be sure to bring a sack lunch & dinner, or money for food.
We perform on Sun, 7/25 at 10:15 until 10:45am, and then again from 1:30 until 2:15pm. We will attend the festival until 4:45pm. Please plan on arriving by 9:30am on Sunday. Be sure to wear your blue band shirt, khaki slacks, dress shoes, and socks. Once again, be sure to bring a sack lunch & dinner, or money for food. Immediate family members can attend the Sunday 1:30pm Spotlight on Youth Performance at the Lake House for $5.00 each. Anyone who still needs to purchase family member tickets for Sunday’s performance, please bring a check – no cash, if possible. Otherwise, regular festival badge costs apply.
There is no Sunday, July 25th rehearsal.
