See you on Sunday, August 18th by 12:45pm for our performance at the Annual Denver Jazz Club Picnic (310 Shadycroft Dr, Littleton). Please wear your maroon band shirt, khaki shorts, low cut white socks, and white or black tennis shoes. Colton will be joining us for this performance. Colton, please bring your drum kit. Andrew, you will need your bass amp.
Parents are invited to this picnic free of charge. The Denver Jazz Club furnishes brats, burgers, hot dogs and drinks. Please bring a dish to share – salad, appetizer, dessert, or snack. Our performances will be from 1:30 until 2pm, and then again from 3:50 until 4:15pm.
Please bring your August dues, since they were due last Sunday (except for Copland who has already paid).
Please bring dinner money, as we’ll stop for food on the way to our 6:30-9pm rehearsal.

WE NEED TO HAVE A REQUIRED PARENT/STUDENT EXPECTATIONS MEETING ON SUNDAY, AUGUST 25TH, FROM 6 UNTIL 6:30PM. THIS IS SOMETHING WE DO AT THE START OF EACH NEW SCHOOL YEAR. AT LEAST ONE PARENT AND EACH STUDENT NEED TO ATTEND THIS MEETING.
At Sunday’s rehearsal, we’ll plan out the set for the Avo’s Jazz Festival performance on Monday, September 2nd. We’ll also rehearse 5 new selections: I Got Rhythm, When It’s Sleepy Time Down South, The Mooche, Summertime, and Hello Dolly. The audio recordings to these tunes have been uploaded to our website, so you can start studying them.
