Student Meeting, Rehearsal and Performance (3-9pm)

Please meet at the Kloewer’s house (4990 S. Elati St, Englewood 80110) by 10:30am on Saturday. Please wear your maroon band shirt, khaki band shorts, white or light colored tennis shoes and low cut socks. Eat before you come. Colton, you’ll need your drum kit and Trevor, you’ll need to bring your keyboard. Alex, if you do make this performance, you’ll need to pick the banjo up from Josh in advance, since he won’t be at this performance. Otherwise, maybe you could bring your guitar. We will perform from 11:30am until 1pm (No Tyvon, Cameron or Josh; Possibly no Kris, Dallas or Alex; George and Matt will be joining us). All parents, family members and friends are welcome to enjoy the music and eat a complimentary barbecue at the Kloewer’s house.

At 1pm, we’ll pack all our gear up and car pool to Flesher-Hinton Music Store for their Customer Appreciation Day. We perform from 2:30 until 3:30pm (No Cameron; George, Matt, and possibly Alex & Dallas will join us). There will be a drum set and keyboard there. Josh, please bring both banjos, since Alex may join us for this performance. All parents, family members and friends are welcome to enjoy the music and eat a complimentary barbecue at Flesher-Hinton Music Store. The band will enjoy a complimentary dinner at 3:30pm, after we perform. Once again, we will be wearing our maroon band shirts, khaki band shorts, white or light colored tennis shoes and low cut socks. We will be done around 4pm.

On Sunday, we will have our required parent/student expectations meeting from 3 until no later than 3:30pm. This will take place at Flesher-Hinton Music Store, right before our early rehearsal. Please wear your blue band shirt, khaki band slacks, dress shoes and socks. Then rehearsal will go until 5:45pm, and we’ll car pool to the Bull and Bush Pub (4700 Cherry Creek South Dr, Denver). Please bring dinner money as we’ll eat there between performances. We perform around 6:45 until 7pm and then again from 7:45 until 8pm, along with some additional performances with Your Father’s Mustache Band. Parents, relatives and friends are all invited, as long as they eat and drink at the pub. There is no cover charge. If they want to be seated in the room where the band performs, they may need to arrive by 5pm – it’s not a very large seating capacity. We will be done at 9pm.

Please remember to bring your listening CD’s to rehearsal on Sunday.

Please be prepared to play all your major scales around the circle of fourths. We’ll also do pg. 6 in the improv book – Major triads plus 6th’s around the circle. Please practice so you can do it all from memory.

We will rehearse for the Bull and Bush performance, along with preparing for the August 19th Club Picnic performance.

Please work really hard and be ready for Saturday’s and Sunday’s performances and rehearsal.

Please note our fall break will go from November 5th through 22nd. There may be a rehearsal/clinic with Bill on Sunday, November 11th, if he can cover – I’ll let you know.
