12 Rehearsal and Performance

PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR OUR REHEARSAL AND PERFORMANCE ON SUNDAY, February 12TH: Please arrive at Flesher Hinton Music Store by 3:15pm. Please wear your blue band shirt, khaki slacks, dress shoes and socks.

Please bring your February dues (except Alex and Dallas who have already paid) – they are due this week.

Also, Alex or Matt – do either of you have a Volume 1 CD of ours from the Bull and Bush Pub?

Mason, I still need your conflict dates – you’re the only one who has not turned them in yet!

Please remember to bring your listening CD’s to Sunday’s rehearsal.

We’ll continue working on the half step exercises on pg. 9. Please also prepare pg. 19 (2nd exercise).

Please be sure all selections are prepared and memorized for our Bull and Bush performance set for Sunday. This includes: Royal Garden Blues, Creole Love Call, Washington and Lee Swing, Maple Leaf Rag, Si Tu Vois Ma Mere, and Wolverine Blues.

Matt, be sure to prepare the ragtime melodic solo to Washington and Lee Swing (on the Youth All-Star CD vol. 1).

Please also prepare the following for our rehearsal: Bourbon St. Parade, All of Me, Just a Closer Walk, Bill Bailey, Blue Skies, St. Thomas, It Don’t Mean a Thing, Bye Bye Blackbird, When I Leave the World Behind, New Orleans Stomp (lift the solos), Blue Prelude, Black Bottom Stomp, Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody, and Indiana.

Please work really hard, enjoy your private lessons, and be ready for Sunday’s rehearsal and performance.

We will car pool from Flesher-Hinton by approximately 6:00pm. Our 6:45-9:00pm performance with Your Father’s Mustache Band will be at the Bull and Bush Pub (4700 Cherry Creek South Dr). Driving directions can be found on the Event Calendar page. Please tell your parents, relatives and friends that there is no cover charge, but tables are usually filled up by 5:00pm. Please remember to bring dinner money as we will eat at the Pub.

A drum set and piano will be provided for the performance.
