PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR OUR PERFORMANCE AND REHEARSAL ON SUNDAY, JANUARY 15TH: Please arrive at Westminster Elks Lodge (3850 Elk Drive) by 3:15 pm. Driving directions can be found on the Event Calendar page. Please wear your maroon band shirt, khaki slacks, dress shoes and socks. We perform from 3:45 until 4:15 pm. Parents, friends and relatives are very welcome to attend.

A drum set and piano will be provided for the performance.

Please be sure all selections are prepared and memorized for our Denver Jazz Club performance set on Sunday (After You’ve Gone, Creole Love Call, and It Don’t Mean a Thing).  The set order sheet and reference recordings can be found on the Downloads page

Please bring dinner money as we will stop for dinner on our way to Sunday evening’s rehearsal.

Please remember to bring your January dues if you haven’t done so already – they are due this week.

Please remember to bring your listening CD’s to Sunday’s rehearsal.
Practice your half step exercises around the circle of fourths on pg. 9. Please also prepare pg. 19.

Please prepare: New Orleans Stomp (lift the solos), Avalon, Caravan, Five Foot Two, I’ve Found a New Baby, Them There Eyes, Washington and Lee Swing, Black Bottom Stomp, Maple Leaf Rag, Just a Gigolo/I Ain’t Got Nobody, When I Leave the World Behind, and Blue Prelude.

We will also read “I Wanna be Seduced.”

Please work really hard and be ready for Sunday’s rehearsal.

I’m going to try and book our band for as many paid performance dates as possible between now and the time we leave for New Orleans. I’ll try and help everyone out so we can financially afford to go on our two trips in May and June. By next Saturday, January 15th, please get me all conflict dates and times from now through June 10th. Check your school and home calendars – include school band concerts, SAT or ACT testing dates, prom, final exams, family trips, the school musical, band festival dates, other outside music group gig dates, graduation, college audition dates, and anything else you can think of. We will then let our venues know of our availability and book us up as much as possible.
The airfare is our biggest hurdle with the Sacramento trip. We should try to purchase the air tickets soon. I realize we just collected for the New Orleans airfare back in December. But, if you can, please pay for the Sacramento $255.60 airfare by this Sunday, January 15th, instead of the $70.00 New Orleans trip payment #1. If that’s impossible, just turn in what you can. United mileage (50,000) can be used to cover the airfare.
I know this may seem confusing, but here are some options for you:

1) Best scenario
          * $255.60 (Sacramento airfare) paid by January 15t
          * Sacramento trip is then paid off (if donations, etc… meet the attached expectations)
          * New Orleans trip monthly payments from February through May are $87.50

2) Scenario #2
          * Pay as much as you can of the $255.60 (Sacramento airfare) by January 15th
          * The balance of the airfare will be due by April 1st
          * New Orleans trip monthly payments from February through May are $87.50

3) Scenario #3
          * New Orleans/Sacramento airfare combined monthly payments from January through May are $121.00

Thanks for your support, everyone! These 2 trips will be unbelievable performance experiences for our band!!
