Sunday, June 30th Late Rehearsal (8:30-11pm)

I’m very sorry for the extreme lateness of the rehearsal time, but due to Kris and Alec’s schedules, we’ll need to go from 8:30 until 11pm on Sunday, June 30th (No Jake C, Copland, Andrew or Bre).

The following selections are a concern right now: New Orleans Stomp, Five Foot Two, Marchand De Poissons (too fast), I’ve Found a New Baby, Indiana, Caravan, and After You’ve Gone (too fast). Overall, please check that our tempos are correct and don’t go too quick. We have got to do a much better job with dynamics, too! Everyone must step up their memorization work, especially the vets in preparation for our European tour.

I’m happy to report that everyone is now paid up in full for Friday’s Europe trip!!

VETS – Please bring some spending money in both Euros and Swiss Francs. It’s about an 80% Euros/20% Swiss Francs ratio, since we’re only in Switzerland for 2 days. Another possibility is to bring a debit card. You will receive food money throughout the trip, so only snacks, bottled water, souvenirs, and incidentals need to be covered by you. I’m in the process of completing the final, detailed trip itinerary, but it may not be finished by Sunday night’s rehearsal time. I will print copies and distribute them at the 4th of July performance, if not on Sunday night. I’m also revising the packing list, since we’re only going to need to bring our uniform slacks as a back-up. We probably will only need to bring 2 business casual outfits for the entire trip. I’ll try to have that packing list to you on Sunday night as well.

It’s important that all families participate in our King Soopers fundraiser, if at all possible. This fundraiser greatly contributes to our financial aid, uniforms, supplies, and trip expenses. Dottie will have the gift cards available for purchase – just give your $25 check to Ed, and he’ll get it to her. Please bring $25 in cash, or a check made payable to the Denver Jazz Club, for each card you would like to purchase. Remember, you just use the card, same as cash, at King Soopers and Loaf & Jug (great for gas purchases!), each time you shop. Then we get 5% of the sales – you can’t beat it! You still earn your points and gas discounts as long as you use your King Soopers Rewards Card, along with the gift card. Thanks for all your support!!
