PLEASE BE PREPARED FOR OUR PERFORMANCE AND REHEARSAL ON SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 21ST: Please arrive at the Westminster Elks Lodge (3850 Elk Drive) by 3:30pm. Please wear your blue band shirt, khaki slacks, dress shoes and socks. Documents can be found on the Downloads page. Driving directions can be found on the Event Calendar page. We will perform around 4:00 pm. Remember to bring dinner money, as we will car pool to dinner on our way to rehearsal.
Please make sure both selections are completely memorized for Sunday’s performance: All of Me and After You’ve Gone.
Molly & Alex – please remember to have your newspaper article prepared for Sunday’s rehearsal. Please also be working on your transcription which will be due on November 28th.
Shelley McMillion will be giving us a vocal clinic. She will cover scat, group and solo singing throughout the evening.
Please also prepare the following selections for Sunday’s rehearsal: Singin’ the Blues, Ice Cream, Black Bottom Stomp, Jazz Me Blues, Royal Garden Blues, and Washington and Lee Swing.
Please practice Bill’s improv. book on pp. 9 and 20, and be sure to work with his CD as well. Also, please work on your ‘half step below dominant sevenths’ exercise.
Remember we are looking for a drummer to audition for our band as as soon as possible. Please email me any recommended players right away.
