Congratulations guys for an incredible performance on Friday night! We collected almost $1000 at the event – way to go!! The Gleneagles Retirement Community loved you guys so much!!!
See you by 3:15pm on Sunday, February 15th, at Westminster Elks Lodge, for our 3:50 to 4:15pm performance. Please wear your blue/slacks band outfit, and a Mardi Gras hat, if you have one. Free gumbo, masks and beads will be provided! We will join the Queen City Jazz Band on “Bourbon Street,” following our performance set.
Please bring dinner money, as we will stop for food on our way to our 6:30 to 9pm rehearsal.
Please bring any outstanding trip money on Sunday.
Please also bring any February dues that have still not been paid.
I’m checking on current passports – so far, I know the Culbertson family, Ben, Tom M, and Tom E. have current passports (can’t expire before February 1, 2016). Everyone must have a current passport by April 1st!
At Sunday’s rehearsal we’ll do Coker Exercises #87 & 88 at the start of rehearsal.
Please be prepared to play pg. 29 and also “Bourbon Street” in all 12 keys.
We will rehearse the Feb. 17th set on Sunday.
Bill heard us perform My Walkin’ Stick. He has provided us with Maurie’s personal lead sheet. The chords are what Queen City uses and he feels the melody looks perfect. Bill has also provided us with Wende’s recording of LuLu.
On Sunday we will also continue to work on: My Walkin’ Stick, Lulu’s Back in Town, Cornet Chop Suey, Exactly Like You, Lazy River, Alabama Jubilee, and Bye Bye Blackbird.
We now have a confirmed performance set up at the Bull & Bush Pub on Sunday, Feb 22nd, so we’ll rehearse from 3 until 5:30pm, followed by a 5:30 to 9pm concert with Your Father’s Mustache Band.
Friday, June 5th (1-9pm) has now been added for our yearly performance at Avo’s in Ft. Collins.
